MarLEN & Waterborne Technology Platform Mobilisation and Mutual Learning Workshop; 12th March 2026, 10-12 GMT, online

MarLEN and Waterborne Technology Platform are organizing a series of six joint Workshops aligned with the ZEWT Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and its six implementation pathways for different ship types, notably inland waterway transport, short sea shipping, ferries, cruise, intercontinental and offshore. Each MML Workshop will be divided into three main sessions:
The introductory part will present the MarLEN Project, the ZEWT objectives and the objectives of the workshop.
The second session will aim at presenting three best practices and findings from relevant studies, laying the groundwork for the co-creation part.
The co-creation session will gather stakeholders to work together on the identification of challenges and potential solutions, opportunities, strategies and actionable recommendations, investigating policy, financial, technological, social dimensions and other aspects of the transition to zero-emission waterborne transport.
The event will provide the opportunity to:
- Learn from existing best practices related to the transition to zero-emission inland waterway transport;
- Discuss on challenges and opportunies to accelerate the decarbonization of the waterborne sector with different stakeholders;
- Build collaborations and join consortia;
- Participate in the co-creation of actionable recommendation for the sector.
