This one-day workshop aims to de-mystify the e-transition process, lithium-ion battery technology and charging, and to place it within the wider context of marine decarbonisation. The speakers will also share their experience of operating electric boats within the local area as part of their decarbonisation strategy and will highlight the importance of training to support the transition to electric. A Panel and Q&A session, drawing on sector expertise in vessel performance, battery and charging technologies and green skills, offers a platform for audience discussion around the opportunities and challenges posed by lithium-ion and marine vessel electrification.

This event is aimed at anyone engaged in the marine sector, including harbour masters, marina managers, marine boatbuilders, engineers and surveyors,  commercial ferry and boat hire businesses, marine legal and insurance companies.

This free-to-attend workshop is organised by South Hams District Council (SHDC) with the support of South Devon College and Maritime UK SW’s Launchpad programme. It is funded by Innovate UK (IUK) as part of The Electric Seaway project, which aims to draw upon innovate charging and battery storage technology to deliver a network of rapid chargers for electric boats along the South Coast of England.
