The Department for Transport (DfT) has published the updated national policy statement for ports (NPSP) on its website.

The document sets out a framework for decision-making in relation to the largest port development proposals in England as well as the regime for harbour orders. It follows a consultation on amending the existing national policy statement and replaces the previous NPSP published in 2012.
