Help shape the future of ports and harbours by contributing to KTN's landspace map
The Innovation Network team are compiling a snapshot of the innovation ecosystem within UK ports to identify challenges to decarbonisation and organisations offering solutions to these challenges. Read the full working group update here. They are calling for innovators with solutions and ports and harbours with challenges to add to this map to help enrich their findings.
Their preliminary map already has over 200 UK ports and harbours added, including 53 major ports. The next step is to derive the energy needs and emissions from each port by understanding the activity types and creating a more detailed picture of large emitters across port operations.
The outputs from this group will lead to a comprehensive map of the UK’s capabilities to meet the challenge of decarbonising to identify the range of organisations who are offering solutions and ideas to meet this challenge. We aim to enable users of the map to contribute to this aim and add themselves to the map as a solution provider for the decarbonisation challenges.
Do you have an innovation that can help either provide zero emission shore poweror decarbonise an existing asset?
KTN are calling all Ports &Harbours to understand and help find solutions to decarbonise energy sources and reduce emissions within the port area.
They would love to work with you and your port inventory to create a more detailed picture of what the large emitters are across a wide subset of operations. Any data shared will be completely anonymised (please reach out if you have any concerns), should you be able to help, please email simon.buckley@ktn-uk or Matthew.moss@ktn-uk.org .
