Maritime UK Solent is supporting Berthon Boat Company to run an event during National Apprenticeship Week to explore the apprenticeship challenges faced by maritime organisations in the Solent. This meeting, being held on 7 February, is a chance for industry to share successful strategies they have used to attract and retain talent into their businesses. The event aims to go beyond the practical side of boat building and will include shore-based business and support services.

Keith Longman, Yard Manager at Berthon was part of the UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce and they have published their Skills Report. 

The team at Berthon invite you to make an expression of interest to be part of the event. Capacity is limited to 25, and so we would ask that only one person from an organisation attends. The event will include a tour of the site and an opportunity to experience and understand the capabilities of one of the country's leading boat yards, and to learn from their experience of being part of the UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce.
