Marine industry encouraged to support new global workforce study
An important new research initiative, the '2024 Global Marine Industry Workplace Study' has been launched by the Soundings Trade Only Group with partners Marine Industry News and ICOMIA, aimed at understanding the needs and desires of today’s marine industry employees and fostering a stronger, more diverse, expansive, and multi-faceted marine workforce.
The global research study, which was encompasses qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including a survey and interviews with professionals from diverse backgrounds across different segments of the marine industry.
Part of the aim of the study is to attract women to a variety of positions and retain them by understanding their preferences, factors that impact job retention, and their career ambitions and goals.
By understanding the aspirations, challenges, and opportunities for women and men in the industry the resarch hopes to develop data-driven strategies to foster a more diverse, inclusive environment and unlock the full potential of the talent pool.
The research study’s findings will provide valuable insights and actionable recommendations for marine industry stakeholders. By leveraging these findings, organisations can implement targeted strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent, driving innovation and competitiveness in the global maritime community.
The results of the survey will be shared in September 2024.
