MSE International named as partner in new MarLEN (Maritime Low Emission Network) project
MSE International are delighted to announce that it is one of 16 partners in the successful application for the Horizon CSA project, MarLEN; Maritime Low Emission Network.
MarLEN is a groundbreaking initiative uniting 16 European ministries and funding organisations from 10 countries that will drive innovation in maritime technologies. Together, these countries represent a significant share of global shipbuilding output and fleet tonnage, and are at the forefront of maritime research.
Led by Forschungszentrum JÜLICH, MarLEN is aligned with the Zero Emission Waterborne Transport (ZEWT) partnership and aims to:
- Strengthen the European Research Area in waterborne research by launching new transnational activities
- Foster collaboration and synergies between national and regional maritime research programs
- Support transnational cooperation and knowledge exchange to address climate and environmental challenges in the maritime sector
- Increase the impacts arising from the ZEWT partnership towards the achievement of zero emission waterborne transport in Europe
- Establish a self-sustaining network.
As the maritime sector tackles the pressing challenges of climate change, MarLEN will play a vital role in enhancing transnational cooperation, consolidating partnerships, and promoting sustainable and innovative technologies.
The other UK partners in the project are Innovate UK (IUK) and MarRI-UK, who will be working alongside the international counterparts, under the expert leadership of Forschungszentrum Jülich, in this important step towards a sustainable maritime future.
