Find out the latest news from INdIGO project which is developing biodegradable fishing gear
The INdIGO EU funded project, of which MSE International is a partner, is looking to reduce marine pollution generated by fisheries and aquaculture through the development of biodegradable fishing gear and the identification of lost fishing gear and improvement of its recycling.
The project has recently produced its second newsletter, on the first year anniversary since the start of the project. The newsletter, which can be viewed here, details progress on the production of the first prototypes of biodegradable nets, as well as information on its fishermen's survey and the Fish&Click Citizen Science project.
The INdIGO project will be holding its 2nd online workshop on 26th May 2021 which will be themed, 'The Circular Economy for Fishing Gear: Challenges and Opportunities'.
The programme and registration for this event will be available shortly from this website.
